Happy Springy Saturday!

Today was an absolutely beautiful day! I love days like this - days where every window in my house is open ALL DAY LONG!  This morning Shelby, T, and I went to the Honda dealership to get my car looked at.  It had been making a grinding type of noise and we figured it had something to do with the brakes - we were right.  I said a little prayer last night asking God to not let it be something major and to not let it cost us a fortune to fix.  It seems like anytime we get a little bit ahead something happens (like a car dies.. that story coming in a minute) and then we end up having ZERO money.  Thankfully He was looking down on us this morning cause we left with new brake pads and a CLEAN CAR and it cost us absolutely NOTHING!  THANK YOU SO MUCH!  We ended up going out to the Town Center to shop, eat lunch, and celebrate our new (FREE) brake pads!  ;-)  This evening I've been doing laundry and dishes and working on T's birthday stuff. Invitations go out on MONDAY!!! :-)

Shelby and I both had $50 to spend today (we allow ourselves "spending money" sometimes).  Shelby found some golf balls, he only had 9 left. (OH NO!!.. ha ha).  I didn't see anything while we were out, but I surfed the web tonight and settled on some more Philosophy products.  It only took me an hour to decide what I wanted - I ended up with 3 different products.  Does it take anyone else that long to pick something out? I think that's why I very seldom purchase things in stores.. I pick it up, put it down, pick it up, put it down, pick it up in a different color, end up carrying it around the store for 20 minutes, and then set it down and leave without anything.  IT NEVER FAILS! ha!

Friday was such an interesting day.  It started out with me going to work.  I got a message from my babysitter at around 9:30 or so telling me that T had a fever of 101.2.  Anything over 100.0 and parents are supposed to come get their kids, but T was playing and he just ate and seemed "fine" - so she said I could let him stay and play with the other kids, etc. (SHE IS A WONDERFUL LADY!)  About 30 minutes later she let me know it had dropped to 101.1 and he was tired and going to take a nap.  At 11:30 I went to lunch with the guys in my office, and while I'm there Shelby calls me to tell me his car has died and he's stuck on the side of the road.  Thankfully he was stuck on the off ramp that leads to the Navy Base, so he wasn't stranded out in the middle of nowhere.  He had a funeral to do that morning and THANKFULLY he at least made it almost back before his car died.  While I was on the phone with him, my babysitter calls me and tells me that T's temp jumped to 101.8, that he was very red and hot, and lethargic.  I tell her that I'm heading back to the office, that I have to stop and get Shelby and then we will both be there.  I stop by a car supply store and pick up come coolant, take it to Shelby, wait on his car to start again, follow him to his office, drop his car off, go pick up T, and then head to the Navy Clinic so I can have my Overseas Screening done. (My appt was at 2:30 that day).  We make it to my appt with time to spare, I get there and fill out all the paperwork, I'm almost done and then they realize that I DID NOT need to have an overseas screening.  I was actually relieved - all of this stuff is so out there and you never really know what you're supposed to do so one less thing for me to worry about is GREAT for me! We get T home and give him some meds etc.  By the next day his temp had dropped and today he seemed fine.  We're almost positive it's teething.. I was worried!

Tomorrow I'm going to put a roast in the crockpot for dinner, probably work on our garage some more, and hopefully relax.  We have church in the morning - Shelby is working late tonight.  I sure hope we wake up!

I hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL weekend!! :-)

  2. It was nice wasn't it? We still have our windows open! I love this time of year. I take forever trying to pick out things. If I'm going to spend lots of money, I want to make sure that it's what I want!
