Yay for FRIDAY!!!!

Yay for FRIDAY! I’m hoping for an easy day at work today. Friday’s usually aren’t bad, so I think I’ll be OK. ;-)  Tonight Shelby has Frisbee. Tristan and I might go along this time. It’s been so cold the past few months, so we’ve stayed home. If the weather is nice we might tag along!

We had a very relaxing evening yesterday! When I got home from work Tristan was sleeping. We had leftovers for dinner and then we watched some TV. Tristan slept until about 6pm. We got him up and fed him, and then he wanted to PLAY. He walked for a bit and played with Chuck the Dump Truck (one of his favorite toys) and then it was bath time! This child LOVES the bath. He was standing at the tub bouncing while I was filling it up with water. Ha ha. It was cute! He played in the tub for a while and then he started rubbing his eyes like he was tired. I was thinking, “ALREADY?!?!” We went ahead and scrubbed him up, rinsed him off, then lotion him up. We gave him a bottle then he was ready for bed! He was really tired yesterday.. This was kinda sad because I didn’t get to see him much. LoL.

I know how he felt though, I was exhausted! I went to bed and read my book for a while, then came out and talked to Shelby for a while. He was tired too so we went to bed around 9:30. Ha ha. I did feel better when I woke up this morning!
Tomorrow Tristan and I are going to lunch with a fellow Navy wife. I’m excited to get out with another GIRL! Ha ha! I love my two boys more than anything, but it is nice to have girl talk sometimes. I hope we have a good time! We’re gonna go to PF Chang’s and eat off their lunch menu. YUMMY!

Not much is really going on today. I went and got some Starbucks this morning so I’m set! Starbucks usually makes me happy.

I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Friday!

I will leave you with a picture of my little 9 month old boy and his friend Rachel. She is the daughter of our babysitter, Miss Angela! Tristan LOVES Miss Angela and little Rachel! :)

This and That

Yesterday was a pretty slow day - work wise.  A group of us traveled to our main office in Green Cove Springs to attend a retirement ceremony.  Our janitor / maintanence man Larry retired as well as his wife.  I really miss him! He was a West Virginia native - great guy.

After I came back from the ceremony, I was pretty worthless the rest of the day.  The time FINALLY came to go home and I was SO excited! ha ha!  I made a new recipe for dinner last night.  I'm making one new recipe per week each month, but for this month I've already made my 4 and I still have one more week! I'll have ended up making 5 or 6 new recipes this month - which is better than what I set for myself!  We had Chile-Chicken Enchilada's. They were SO good!  This is a recipe I'll copy down into my recipe book to make again :)

After Dinner and after Tristan laid down we started watching "Funny People" with Adam Sandler.  I had heard it was hilarious, so I chose it to watch.  The thing is, it wasn't really all that hilarious.  Lots of cursing a kinda depressing actually! Shelby and I both went to bed feeling gloomy after watching that movie - LoL.  I guess you could say we didn't care for it.

I don't know what we'll get into tonight.  We're going to eat leftovers from last night for dinner, so I don't have to cook.  I'll probably straighten up the kitchen or something.  We've been trying to work with Tristan every evening on his walking and he's really picking it up! He's so fun to watch - he makes us (or me, mostly - I laugh easily) laugh soooo hard.  He's just so stinkin' cute!  He gets going with his walking toy (a toy he pushes and walks behind it) and he's getting fast! The whole time he's talking and "yelling" like LOOK AT ME!  ha ha.  Yesterday evening he was able to turn it to where he wanted and he got a little farther that way.  It's so neat watching him learn things!  Before we know it he's gonna crawl to that thing, pull himself up, and walk to wherever he wants to go - I'll be in the kitchen and I'll see my little man walking in there to see me.  That will be a really neat day!

I am so exhausted today!  Night before last I couldn't sleep, and then last night I didn't really go to bed early - so today I'm really tired.  Isn't it weird how it skips a day?  Maybe I'll go take a nap in my car during lunch... ha ha.

Happy Monday!

Christmas is only 10 days away. I’m very excited to spend Christmas with my family. I’m also very excited to see Tristan on his first Christmas. I hope we’re able to make tons of wonderful memories with him this year! He’s doing really well and hasn’t decided to attack the Christmas tree yet. I was thinking it was going to be so hard to keep him away from it, but thankfully he’s doing great!

This past weekend was a very relaxing weekend for us. Saturday I got to sleep in until 10:30!! THANK YOU TRISTAN!! Then we got up and did our Saturday cleaning. Shelby was working so it was just Tristan and I. He followed me all over the house – it’s so nice that he’s able to crawl where he wants to go. VERY cute too. All that crawling was hard work! – so he ended up taking an early nap. Shelby came home from work and we had a late lunch and then headed out to the grocery store. That evening we watched the newest Harry Potter movie and just relaxed. It felt SO GOOD to just relax!

Sunday we went to church and then went to our favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch. Afterwards we came home and Shelby ended up taking an extremely long nap. I baked some pumpkin bread and clipped coupons. Yesterday evening we had our Christmas Party at church. It was a lot of fun and it felt great to get out and spend time with friends. Tristan had a great time!

This evening is Shelby’s work Christmas Party – I have to run to Target during my lunch break and find a gift for the gift exchange game. I hope we have a good time! Last year we did, so I’m sure we will this year as well. This Friday my parents are coming to visit – we’re going to do Christmas with them during their visit. They have to leave before Christmas to go back to WV, so I think we’re going to do our Christmas on December 20th. Friday evening Shelby has a holiday concert downtown. I’m looking forward to that! Then, Saturday is MY work Christmas party. After my parents leave, Shelby’s parents and sister are coming to celebrate Christmas with us. We have a busy couple weeks ahead of us!

This Wednesday some of the ladies at the office are getting together to make desserts for everyone. We’re gonna have a “Dessert Buffet”. I’m trying to decide what I want to make! Any ideas?

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I wanted to take this moment to publicly thank Miss Jennifer Miller for sending me a little Christmas gift. I got it this weekend. She read on my blog about how I LOVE coffee mugs, and she sent me the most adorable gingerbread man coffee mug. THANK YOU SO MUCH – I absolutely love it! She’s been my friend for as long as I can remember, and it’s friendships like that I cherish the most.  :-)

Until next Time ….

Randomness :)

Hello Everyone!

I hadn't realized that It had been so long since I blogged! Ooops! I really need to get on the ball!

Let's see..  Well, this past weekend I hosted a Pampered Chef Party at my house.  It went pretty well.  People don't know how to RSVP, but that's nothing new. ;)  We made a DELICIOUS Loaded Baked Potato Chowder.  It was truly amazing and incredibly E A S  Y!  I don't have all the Pampered Chef products needed for the recipe, but I'm still able to make it using my utensils, etc.  So so soooo good!  After the party Shelby and I attempted to take a nap (it's been stressful because Tristan is teething) and then we watched the Florida vs Alabama game - ROLL TIDE! ;)

Sunday I met some girl friends for tea at a place called Cozy Tea.  I love going there.  The food is so good and it's a really cute/girly place to go!  I got the Sunday Brunch which came with a non-alcoholic mimosa (which was wonderful), a bowl of baked potato soup with toast, a salad, broccoli and cheese quiche, and some fruit and a pumpkin scone with honey and cream for dessert.  The tea I chose is called "Kama Sutra Chai" - it's so good!  Everyone has their own little tea pot with their selected tea. There are TONS to choose from.  We all ordered something different.   Guys go too, but it's more of a girly atmosphere.  I'd love to take Shelby sometime!  Here is a picture so you can see for yourself :)

I know this is a major change in topic, but I've been wanting this particular tumbler from Starbucks and I have looked EVERYWHERE for it. Well - Monday was my lucky day because I walked to Starbucks on my way to work just to see if they had it, and they DID!! Since it's Christmas time it comes with a cute candy cane striped straw.  I was so excited! The guy behind the counter said they are really hard to come by and that they just got them and were already almost sold out!  Talk about perfect timing!! :-)

This morning the guys from my office, and myself, went to Jacksonville to attend a Breakfast Meeting.  It was a lot of fun! I got to meet a lot of the people I talk to on the phone.  Now I have faces to go with the names :)  There was a really nice selection to choose from (it was a buffet type of set up).  I was really excited to see pancakes - because those are my favorite.  Now I'm waiting until it's my time to relieve the receptionist for her lunch.  Once she gets back I can go run my misc. errands and come back and get workin'!

Wow- this post is so random!

Wonderful Weekend Recap!

Happy Monday Everybody!  Did you enjoy your weekend?  I know I say this every Monday, but it's hard to believe the weekend is already over!  Time flies when you're having fun or being productive!! :)

I already blogged a quick blog about Saturday ( which I did Saturday evening) but I guess I could touch on it again, since it IS part of my weekend?!  Shelby and I were able to sleep in a bit Saturday morning, thanks to Tristan going RIGHT back to bed after his breakfast!!  Shelby had poptarts for breakfast, but I was hungry for some pancakes so I made 1/2 a batch for myself! ha ha  After some relaxing I went ahead and cleaned the kitchen from breakfast and started on my Saturday cleaning throughout part of the house.  My bedroom and bathroom didn't get touched and it's driving me absolutely crazy! Shelby was able to go out and mow the grass so Tristan and I drug out all our Christmas decor and started putting it out.  Tristan is all over the place now so it makes it harder to get things done while he's awake - he was also too busy looking for his "Da da da da"!  I captured that on video and I hope to be able to load it soon! I tried on Saturday evening but it wouldn't load :(  For dinner I made some potato soup and we just relaxed and watched some college football.

Tristan turned 7 months old on Saturday - it's completely unreal to me! He's so much fun right now .. learning so many things and doing something new almost every day.  If you don't have children now, just wait - you're life will be enriched so much more.

Sunday morning was incredibly lazy .. we skipped church like bad people and ended up working on our Christmas decor instead.  I got my fireplace mantle decorated, the tree put up in the dining room (which is incredibly cute and I'm so pleased with it!), Shelby got the BIG tree up - but we still have to decorate it, and he got the lights up on the house.   I still have 2 trees to put up and I need to decorate our main tree.  That will probably take up most of my week this week - we're trying to get everything decorated before we go out of town for Thanksgiving, that way it's done when we get home and we can just enjoy it!  Last night we had a little potluck with our Life Group, so I made Baked Spinach Artichoke Dip.  It's a great party food and really easy.  I ended up bringing some of the lefovers for lunch today! Yummy!

That pretty much wraps up my weekend - I love this time of year!! :)

Happy Saturday!

I love the weekends - especially Saturdays.  College football is on, I don't have to work, and I get to hang out with my family!! :-)  Today we slept in a little bit, then I got up and made pancakes for breakfast.  Shelby and I picked up around the house, then relaxed for lunch.  Shelby mowed the grass and I pulled out all the Christmas decorations.  I made potato soup for dinner and now we're watching football again and relaxing!

I'm trying to decide what to do with my Christmas decorations.  I don't know where to put them!  I have 4 Christmas trees - Yes, 4.  1 Big one and 3 small ones.  I don't know if I'm gonna put all 4 out this year, we'll see :)

Today Tristan is 7 months old!!  He did something brand new today - we put him down for a nap and we came to check on him and found him STANDING in his pack & play!  This is totally new and he's never done that before!  I'm so glad we were able to catch him!

Tristan is also talking now and he LOOOOOVES to say "da da".  Today Shelby was out mowing the grass and Tristan was looking for his DA DA.  I got it on video - it's so cute!

*** I've tried ALL evening to post the video of Tristan looking for his "da da" .. I will keep trying.  Check back later for an updated post!! ***

I hope everyone had a good day!!

Happy Thursday!

Good Morning Everyone!

Sorry that I've been MIA so far this week - what a strange week!  I logged in to blog this morning and found a sweet comment from Mrs. Rachel Gray - thank you SO MUCH! It made me smile :)

(It's healing!)
We had a great weekend last weekend.  We were able to be productive and relax all at the same time!  Sunday afternoon I ended up getting bit by one of my dogs - totally by accident.  They tend to fight sometimes and I wasn't trying to put my hand in the middle of it, but somehow it found itself there!  It was so incredibly sore and by Monday morning it started to get infected.  I had NO IDEA how serious dog bites could be, so I was just using a bandaid and going along with my day when a co-worker saw my hand and basically scared me into going to the ER.  Before I went to talked with my parents (Who are both nurses) and they agreed that I needed to have it seen immediately.  I called my Dr but they refused to see me and told me to "Go to the ER right now!".  Wouldn't you be scared to death?! I have so many things going thru my mind at this point!  But the main one is "How can something so small cause so much trouble!!!!"  I went to the ER during lunch and was given a tetanus shot and some antibiotics.  I'm happy to say that my hand still looks gross but the infection is going away.  It's still incredibly sore though.

On Tuesday we woke up to Tristan vomiting in his crib.  We thought he had come down with some sort of stomach virus, but the more we think about it we're wondering if it has something to do with teething??  A few days before he started having diarrhea, and then Tuesday morning he was vomiting up clear liquid and refused a bottle of any kind.  His poor little face and lips were so pale, and he had no idea what was going on with his body.  It was the saddest thing.  I called in to work and stayed home with him.  By the end of the day he was feeling better and was even eating! Thank goodness it wasn't anyhing serious!  Now he's back to his normal silly self :)

One of Tristan's new "fun" things - that he likes to do - is lean backwards/upside down on your lap.  It's hilarious!  You sit him on your lap facing YOU and he throws his head back because he wants to do it again, and again, and again, and again.  It's so funny.  I laugh so hard!  Even when you DON'T let him go back, he scoots his butt so that he can go back himself.  He's such a stinker!!  I need to catch this on video!

Well, I better get back to work.  I have got NOTHING accomplished this whole week.  I had to organize my office this morning before I could start anything because it was driving me absolutely insane! I will post more later :)

Happy Thursday!

I LOVE Productive Saturdays!!

Today was a great day :-)  Especially since I was able to get things DONE today! I love being able to cross things off my "to-do" list because it makes me feel so accomplished!

This morning I got up and got ready for the day.  Managed to do a load of laundry, pay the bills, and get little man ready in time to take Shelby to work (He left his car there yesterday afternoon).  After we dropped him off we ran over to Target and got our necessities : Formula, Diapers, Wipes, Cat & Dog Food, and a few odds and ends.  I LOVE TARGET!  WE attempted to do some Christmas shopping, but we didn't find anything.  We had a quick lunch at Zaxby's, and then we headed over to the mall to attempt some MORE Christmas shopping.  Again, NO LUCK!  That's OK though, we'll get it done in time!

After we got home I cleaned my house, I've done 4 loads of laundry, cooked dinner, cleaned the kitchen, and now I'm ready to relax! We watched The Ugly Truth tonight after dinner - it was pretty funny!

Tristan is growing SO fast! He's crawling pretty fast now, and he's pulling up to stand!!  He's such a happy baby - he makes Shelby and myself laugh everyday!!

I hope to have another productive day tomorrow .. We have church, then I need to come home and get my coupons together and run by the store (if I don't get them together tonight).  Shelby is playing Frisbee at 2, and then we have Life Group at 5:00.  We'll probably have a late dinner and relax afterwards.  Monday starts another work week - Blah!!

Oh, I almost forgot!  I need help with something - how do you disinfect a sponge??  I just threw my old one away and bought some more, and I REALLY like them and don't really wanna throw it away so soon... but I don't know what to do to disinfect.  What's the best way - does anyone know?!  THANKS!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!! :-)

Yay For Days Off!

Did ya'll have a good Veteran's Day?  Shelby was out of town for work, so I spent my day off taking care of some things around the house and spending time with my favorite little man!

I got to sleep in until about 8:00 and then Tristan and I got ourselves ready to go for a play date and a friends house.  We also went out to lunch and Tristan sat in a high chair (At a restaurant) for the FIRST time ever!  Such a big moment ;)

I ran by Publix to get some things I wanted to get before the deal went off, and then we went home where Tristan took a nap and I took care of some things around the house.  I was able to get quite a few things accomplished and it makes me feel SO GOOD to have a productive day!

Yesterday was our anniversary - so we ate homemade meatloaf and watched TV.  It was a very low key - uneventful - evening .. but I enjoyed it!  I'm hoping to finish up on some things today.  The pugs had muddy feet from being outside in the rain, and now my hardwood floors have little puglet prints on them! I REALLY wanna get that cleaned off, especially since Tristan is crawling now!

Moving on to TODAY ..

I've spent a lot of my morning looking up information on military moves and housing, etc.  I'm having a hard time finding job listings for my field.  Does anyone know is the police station on base hires civilians?  I'd really like to find something in the CJ field, and not just do some random job.. but I'm having a hard time finding something. :(    I'm SLOWLY finding information on things we need to know about moving.  It's actually not that easy to find!  Not as easy as I was expecting, I guess.  I REALLY hope we get our orders soon so I can share with you where we're going!!

Don't forget that my 100th post is coming up soon!!
