Extended Weekend Recap

HELLO EVERYONE!  I've missed you - no, seriously I have!  My parents were in town this past weekend, so I was really busy keeping up with them.  It was a great time though! I love it when my family and Shelby's family comes to visit.  I just wish we lived closer to everyone!

Friday evening my parents made it into town.  I had a nail appointment after work, so I rushed home so I could start dinner before they got home.  We had Curry Rice - which is something my family really LOVES.  We learned about Curry Rice when we hosted our Japanese exchange students.  We've been making it ever since!  After dinner we spent some time with the little man!  He's changed SO MUCH since my parents saw him last.  My grandmother was able to come too, and she hadn't seen him since 4th of July!!  A lady from my home church in West Virginia sent me 12 diaper boxes FULL of clothes for Tristan! It took me an hour to look through it all (which consisted of pulling it out of the box and going "OH MY GOSH THIS IS SO CUTE!!")  This was such a blessing! Shelby and I can't really afford to buy Tristan NICE clothes - so we get him things we can find CHEAP..which isn't much.  Tristan is now the proud owner of a variety of name brand outfits, including a  Ralph Lauren outfit complete with a FLEECE JACKET! Absolutely adorable! I will post about his outfits later ;)  Another thing she sent us was a "Jumperoo" which is like an exersaucer on springs - Tristan jumps and jumps and jumps and jumps - FOR HOURS!!!!!

Saturday we got up and were kinda lazy around the house.  I'm trying to remember what we did - is that sad that I'm 25 years old and I can't remember something I did over the weekend?!  My mom, grandmother, Tristan, and I went out on the town.  We went to the St Johns Town Center mall.  My mom got to shop at Brighton, one of our FAVORITE stores.  Then we had Panera for lunch.  Did you know that Panera has macaroni and cheese now? THEY DO!  My mom and grandma got it - they said it was wonderful!  That evening my grandma and I worked on my coupons.  She cleaned out all the old coupons out of my coupon binder while I cut out my new ones and organized them.  (I was a little behind)  Shelby had been out of town so he made it home Saturday evening.  Tristan was SO happy to see him!

Sunday morning we went to church, and then we dropped Shelby back off at the house so he and my dad could do manly things, meaning GO PLAY GOLF! ;)  My mom, grandma, Tristan, and I went to McDonalds for lunch and then ran over to the grocery store.  I came home and prepared everything for dinner so that all I had to do was throw it in the oven, and then I baked cookies for our Life Group that night.  We ended up missing Life Group but we took our cookies over anyways.  We ended up staying home and spending time with the family.  For dinner we had Chicken & Rice Casserole, which was a HUGE success, and then I baked some Snicker-doodle cookies for dessert!  My grandma and myself worked on coupons for a little while longer, then we all went to bed.  We were exhausted!

Monday I took the day off so that I could spend time with my family while they were in.  Shelby was working out of town for most of the day .. and I didn't want them to be by themselves.  We got up and everyone slowly got ready for the day.  My dad gave Tristan a bath - which was a blast.  Tristan LOVE bath time!  Then we went to lunch.  After lunch we had to take Tristan for his 6 month check-up.  He did GREAT!  My little man is 16.9 lbs and 25 1/2 inches long.  He got his shots but was such a trooper!  Afterwards I took my mom and grandmother to the "Mother of all Junk Stores" here in Jacksonville.  We were planning on going to the St. Augustine outlets, but we ran out of time.

Monday evening my family babysat Tristan so Shelby and I could go out for our anniversary (which is TOMORROW).  We had a really good time!  We ate dinner at Carabba's and then went to see Couples Retreat (HILARIOUS - a MUST SEE!).  We were home by 9:00 or 9:30.  It was so nice going out together, even though I missed Tristan.  ha ha.

My family left for West Virginia this morning (They've already made it back safe and sound) and I had to return to work.  It was a very nice day.  It felt like a FRIDAY! I guess because I have tomorrow off?!  Shelby left again today to go out of town.  He'll be back tomorrow night.  Tomorrow is our 3 year wedding anniversary!  I'm thinking about making a good dinner and just relaxing tomorrow evening.  I'm sure Shelby is gonna be tired anyways from traveling.  I'm looking forward to it! I love relaxing evenings at home with my family!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  I sure did!!
