Home Decor Ideas

Well, I've been bitten by the decorating bug! All my friends are moving and decorating their new houses, and it's rubbed off on me! We are going to be moving into a new house the beginning of next month, and I thought this was a great opportunity to FINALLY decorate our house :) Everything we have is so mismatched - the only matching furniture is Tristan's ! Some of our rooms don't really have a theme, and that's what I want to create!

Right now our kitchen is decorated in COFFEE stuff. I love coffee, so it's totally ME! I love fiestaware dishes and I am planning on decorating our new kitchen in a fiestaware/coffee theme. Bright colors is what I'm going for. I want to get fiestaware canisters in different colors, and I want to purchase different colored coffee mugs to hang on the wall. I also found a clock online that would match PERFECTLY - it's very retro but very cute :) I found a Starbucks "Mona Lisa" poster that I am thinking about putting in there too.

As for the living area, I'm wanting an eclectic coffee house feel. The colors I picked out are plum, brown, orange, and green - variations of these colors. It looks really good together! We are gonna get a dark brown couch cover for our couch and some cute pillows that will go along with out theme. The walls in the living room are already painted a dark brown - so it's gonna look SO nice once we get it all put together! I found alot of pieces at Crate and Barrel that go along with my theme idea.

Have you ever seen those pendant lights they have at Starbucks? I've been looking at those too! They would go SO WELL with our theme and I found those online too!! There is a kit at Lowes that will transform a regular light into a pendant light! Woohoo!! :)

Our dining room is currently done in an Americana theme, which I really like and I plan on keeping it that way. I hope it doesn't look too bad with contemporary theme throughout the rest of the house!

Tristan's room is done in a Nautical theme, and I'm thinking about making the spare bathroom - which will be his bathroom - into a Green and Blue theme. I found a really cute bahtroom decor online (surprise, surprise!) and it will be super easy to decorate. There are lots of cute blue and green things out there to decorate with!

I'm stumped on a bedroom theme for Shelby and I. Our bedding is currently red and gold, and it's fairly new - so I hate to not use it anymore. The bedroom is painted in a dark color as well, and I would LOVE to turn our bedroom into a comtemporary space! Maybe we will come up with something.. :)

So, does anyone have any ideas?? I'd love to hear hour your house is decorated!!
