Happy Friday to YOU!

HELLO all you beautiful bloggers! Happy FRIDAY! I just realized that I haven’t posted since Monday... where have I been?! I’ve been reading your posts, but I guess I just forget to post my own? WHO KNOWS?! I guess my life hasn’t been all that exciting this week. Ha ha

Goodness I’m so happy it’s Friday! The weather is absolutely beautiful here right now, and I can’t wait to just get out and spend time in it! I’m hoping to take little T out this weekend and get some cute pictures of him in some spring-y type clothes. We’re thinking about taking him to a golf course, so hopefully it works out! I’ve been meaning to do it for a couple weekends now, but of course it hasn’t happened. That would mean that things are going the way I want them to. Ha ha. We fixed Monk-Monk up a little Easter basket. We filled it with SNACKS – because this boy loves him some snacks! Puffs, Yogurt Melts, Baby Gold Fish Crackers, Gerber Graduates Fruit Snacks, Dry Cereals, and a cute little Easter-y book – I can’t wait to see him dig thru all that stuff! My mom sent him an Easter package and he got it yesterday. He got some really cute stuff. He was so adorable digging thru his Easter bag... he carried a big Easter sucker around all evening!

Guess who’s in possession of the car today? Yes – that would be ME! I haven’t had a car in about 2 weeks! I don’t know what I’m gonna do with myself! I had plans to run all these “errands” during my lunch break, but now that I’m sitting here planning out my strategy – I can’t think of what I need/want to do during that time. Don’t ya hate that?! I NEED to run to the Dollar Store and look for some 8 x 10 frames, but I WANT to run to Target and look around instead. I will probably end up doing BOTH... 'cause I’m cool like that. I need to run by Michaels too… hmm, see? I keep changing my mind! [Miranda, Stop thinking!]

So, I have all the elements picked out for my blog makeover. I’m so excited about it! I have to turn in my invoice, and then I’ll be on the waiting list. It should be done either the last part of April or the first part of May. This is perfect since we’re leaving Jacksonville the first part of May. For those of you wondering, I’m giving my blog a Hawaiian makeover! I hope it turns out really cute!! I’ve been trying to think of cute and creative things for my sidebar headers and such. I’ve settled on “Hangin’ Loose with the Tucci’s” as the blog title... and I’ve thrown in some Hawaiian lingo here and there - I hope ya’ll like it!

What do you think? This is a preview!! :-)

I hope everyone is having a fantastic day! Hugs!

What's Your Philosophy ?

I guess i've never been one to pamper myself.  I'm pretty casual but I like girly things.  Since my beautiful son was born, I've noticed that I've become more and more "frumpy".  It is true that mom's forget about themselves when their children are born.  And don't get me wrong, that's not a terrible thing but it's not a great thing either.  For me, I stay in denial for an eternity before I finally figure something out.  When things come gradually, I don't notice them as much.  Especially when I'm dealing with a full time job, husband, child, cooking, cleaning, and trying to find time to relax in between.  ha ha

When I was trying to come up with some gift ideas for my birthday this year, I realized that I really needed some new clothes.  I might have got a few new tops and pants once or twice since I've been married..but it just hasn't been on the top of my priority list.  Once I started to notice that most of my clothes were old, worn out, had holes and tears in them, were stained, etc - it made me feel kinda like a bum.  I was wearing pants to work that needed to be safety pinned among other things, my PJ / Lounge pants have holes in them and are just plain worn out, about 95% of my shirts and tops are stained, or have holes and tears in them.  It's absolutely pathetic and unacceptable! When you wear things like this, it's kind of depressing! Especially looking back at it now.. I feel like such a low life!

I really want to do things for myself.  I want to make myself feel GOOD and GIRLY and REFRESHED.  I want to feel PRETTY.  As it is right now, I hardly ever wear makeup, I rarely fix my hair, it's been probably 8 months since I've even had a haircut, and I will go way over a week without shaving (which I know is absolutely gross.. but it's just like I don't care)  I always put myself last.. always.

So.. with ALL that said I really want to try and do things for myself every once in a while!  I got my new clothes yesterday. YAY!!!  I'm wearing a new top and cardigan today.. and I it feels great to have nicer clothes on! ha ha!   The past two days I curled my hair before work.. I really need a haircut, so it looks kinda silly.  I didn't curl it today and I think it looks better.  ha ha!

The other day I went to the NEX (because we had a gift card) and I picked up some Philosophy skin care.  I've always wanted to try it and I've been wanting to do something for my poor neglected face.  I got this to try:

I have dry patches on my face and it's just "rough" feeling.  I've used this for a few days and already my skin feel SO much better! I ended up ordering the face wash by itself because I like it a LOT and I needed face wash.  The other two things will last me forever.. so I didn't need that right now.  I also ordered this:
This is a daily facial type stuff and I thought it would be great because my skin is so far gone.  It needs some major help!

I get so excited  to use my new face care stuff! ha ha! It's morning and i'm like "YAY - I get to WASH MY FACE!"  and then again before I go to bed "WAHOO - I GET TO WASH MY FACE!"  ha ha!  It's fun doing things for yourself, right?!

So all you beautiful mommas and workin' girls out there - what do you do for yourself?  Is there a certain product you SWEAR by?!  I could really use some help! I feel like I'm new at all this pampered girly type stuff!

The Most Stressful, Time Consuming, Tiring, Yet Absolutely MOST rewarding Job in the World – Being a Momma.

The other day Shelby and I were eating lunch and we’re feeding T some banana puffs as a snack. He has this thing where he gags really easily if he eats something that’s too thick or if he just has it on the back of his tongue – it’s quite strange. He’s gagging on his puffs and he finally throws up a little bit. We wipe him down, tell him it’s “OK” and then once the mini crisis is over, we continue eating. That day I just so happened to be eating potato soup, and as I looked down at my next bite of soup I thought to myself... “Ya know, this looks a lot like T’s vomit”. Not missing a beat, I take another bite and then I think to myself, “Hmm.. it doesn’t really bother me that it looks like T’s vomit!” 10 months ago, I would have puked right along with him.. But now I’m a “MOMMA” and I can deal with things like that.

That little instance at lunch got me thinking about being a Momma and all the “stuff” that comes along with it. Mommas are tough old birds – a lot tougher than I had ever imagined. Who else can clean up vomit and eat at the same time? I know I couldn’t before I had Tristan.. Now it’s nothing. It’s funny, but I was thinking about characteristics that Momma’s share with one another – and we are all so much alike! It made me want to come up with a little “You know you’re a Momma When” list. I did a little research and found quite a few that applied to me! So, here we go :-)

You Know you’re a Momma When … (I have experienced all of these)

You have caught spit and/or vomit in your hand

You have shared a 10 minute conversation with a complete stranger about your child

You see a child from playgroup and you know his name but not his Momma’s

You automatically justify excessive crying with, “Oh – he’s teething”

You keep your awesome babysitter a secret from other mom’s you know.. (ha ha)

You and your husband sing the songs from your child’s toys without realizing it!

You see something devastating involving children on the news and you immediately want to go check on your own children

You’re hardly in any pictures because you’re always the one behind the camera

You find yourself talking in the 3rd person .. “Momma Loves You!”

You pack 2 days worth of “stuff” in your diaper bag just to go to the grocery store : Extra shirts, Pants, Bibs, Food, Diapers, Wipes, Bottles, Toys, Tylenol & Teething Tablets, Camera, pacifiers

You can think of 15 different ways to use a baby wipe and that doesn’t involve a diaper

You write down EVERYTHING: First Olympics (2010 Winter), First Word, First Steps (how many), First Address, First Friends, First Boo Boo, etc.. the list goes on FOREVER!

You frame their paintings and drawings

You give your family gifts from your child instead of from yourself

You never go anywhere alone – including the bathroom

You get foods you know your child will like when you go out to eat – because you always share with them.

You will act absolutely ridiculous just to get your child to laugh or smile – you will find that you’ll spend most of your time doing this…

No child will ever be as cute / handsome as your child (or as smart)

For all you Momma’s out there.. what are some if the things that make you know YOU’RE a momma?

For all you Momma’s To Be – Get ready.. you’re name is about to change. From the moment your precious child is born, nobody can take your place – and you’ll always be known as “MOMMA” :-)
