Happy Thursday!

Good Morning Everyone!

Sorry that I've been MIA so far this week - what a strange week!  I logged in to blog this morning and found a sweet comment from Mrs. Rachel Gray - thank you SO MUCH! It made me smile :)

(It's healing!)
We had a great weekend last weekend.  We were able to be productive and relax all at the same time!  Sunday afternoon I ended up getting bit by one of my dogs - totally by accident.  They tend to fight sometimes and I wasn't trying to put my hand in the middle of it, but somehow it found itself there!  It was so incredibly sore and by Monday morning it started to get infected.  I had NO IDEA how serious dog bites could be, so I was just using a bandaid and going along with my day when a co-worker saw my hand and basically scared me into going to the ER.  Before I went to talked with my parents (Who are both nurses) and they agreed that I needed to have it seen immediately.  I called my Dr but they refused to see me and told me to "Go to the ER right now!".  Wouldn't you be scared to death?! I have so many things going thru my mind at this point!  But the main one is "How can something so small cause so much trouble!!!!"  I went to the ER during lunch and was given a tetanus shot and some antibiotics.  I'm happy to say that my hand still looks gross but the infection is going away.  It's still incredibly sore though.

On Tuesday we woke up to Tristan vomiting in his crib.  We thought he had come down with some sort of stomach virus, but the more we think about it we're wondering if it has something to do with teething??  A few days before he started having diarrhea, and then Tuesday morning he was vomiting up clear liquid and refused a bottle of any kind.  His poor little face and lips were so pale, and he had no idea what was going on with his body.  It was the saddest thing.  I called in to work and stayed home with him.  By the end of the day he was feeling better and was even eating! Thank goodness it wasn't anyhing serious!  Now he's back to his normal silly self :)

One of Tristan's new "fun" things - that he likes to do - is lean backwards/upside down on your lap.  It's hilarious!  You sit him on your lap facing YOU and he throws his head back because he wants to do it again, and again, and again, and again.  It's so funny.  I laugh so hard!  Even when you DON'T let him go back, he scoots his butt so that he can go back himself.  He's such a stinker!!  I need to catch this on video!

Well, I better get back to work.  I have got NOTHING accomplished this whole week.  I had to organize my office this morning before I could start anything because it was driving me absolutely insane! I will post more later :)

Happy Thursday!

  1. I got bitten by a dog a couple of years ago when I was visiting some family friends. It jumped up and bit me on the inside of my arm, right about my elbow. Thankfully, I was up to date on my tetanus shot. We thought it would heal fine but a couple weeks later I still couldn't flex my arm. Apparently the dog bit into my muscle and tore part of it.
Bites are painful, and I'm sure it is inconvenient on your hand. You and Tristan feel better soon!
