So Yeah - Castor Oil ....

Friday night I decided to try the Castor oil experiment.  I mixed 3 teaspoons of it in with some mango juice.  It took all I had to get it down.  The consistency was something to be desired - because the oil separates itself from the juice.  It feels like you're drinking juice with cottage cheese in it.  Not that great of a texture.  I spit the first drink out and then I had had enough by the last drink - so I'd say all in all I had about 2 teaspoons of the oil.  "Cool" I thought to myself.

Around 1:30 Saturday morning I wake up with some massive stomach cramps.  I was so confused because I only had to relieve myself twice and that was it!  My stomach was hard as a rock and it was pain I had never really experienced before.  I'm sure everyone has experienced the pain that comes with having diarrhea, right?  Well, it wasn't that kind of pain either.  I really didn't know what was going on! I was able to fall back to sleep a couple times but then from about 5:00 on I was awake.  I never stopped hurting and I was going crazy! I decided to read the back of the bottle to make sure I didn't somehow overdose on that stuff and cause my stomach to die inside - but I had actually taken a lot less than it directed! Thank goodness I misread the bottle! It would have had me taking up to 4 TABLEspoons!

My mom calls around 10:30 and I'm telling her about my stomach pain, etc.  We come to the conclusion that it might be labor (from other things going on as well)... so I hop in the shower and off to the hospital Shelby and I go.  Come to find out I was having contractions every 3 to 6 minutes.  No wonder I felt like I was constantly hurting!  They checked my cervix and I was only 1.5 cm dilated.  BUMMER!  But, the Dr talked with me and told me what was going on and what I could expect, etc.  I felt so much more relieved when I left the hospital.  I even felt more relaxed!  Up to that point I really had no idea what labor was going to be like or what I was supposed to do or what to expect, etc.  I seriously felt really lost!  Thankfully after a while my contractions spread out and I wasn't in so much pain... I was able to enjoy the rest of my day! After being in pain for about 12 hours - I felt like I was so much lighter.. ha ha.

All in all - I was in the stage before active labor!  HOW EXCITING!!  Now Monday is the real test as to what I can stand.  I really hope I can be tough and take it.. it's kinda scary knowing you're not in control of your own body or for how long you're going to have to be in pain,etc...  YIKES!!

On another note - I got my Yankee Candle catalog in the mail yesterday and there is some REALLY cute stuff in there! I love beachy themed decor and there's ton's of it! I could do some serious damage if I went shopping right now! ha ha :)  Seriously, go to the website and look at their new stuff - it will get you in the summer mood for sure!!

Well, here it is almost 11:30 and I haven't even had my shower!  I slept in until after 10:00 - I'm so thankful I could sleep last night! (^_^)  I'm gonna go hop in the shower and then start getting lunch ready.  I'm not sure what Shelby and I will get into today.  It's our last day being just the two of us - which is kinda bittersweet.  I'm gonna miss the easiness of being able to get up and go whenever we wanted and being able to stay out all day, etc - but in the other hand I'm excited to be a Momma.  It's something we both really wanted and now it's finally here! It's so hard to believe! It seriously does NOT feel real..  I can't wait to see our little man! - Anyways.. I got off track ha ha :)  We might go see a movie or something..  We'll see.

I hope everyone has had a great weekend!  I will keep ya'll updated about what's going on with Mr Tristan.  PLEASE keep us in your prayers!!
